We often speak
of sign and portents
controlling things
that will not be
controlled
the radiator leak
the toilet apparatus
we try and fail
again and again
to fix
an augury of good will
we are still searching for.

I especially love the "an augury of good will" line--there's just something about the word "augury"--I need to add it to my everday vocabulary.
