Twenty Five

Pumping gas
I am shocked
by the low
bulgy look
passenger side
front tire.
Seventy five cents
(remember when the
solution was a quarter)
buys a little
bit of confidence
to drive home on.

how does a quarter give you confidence?

By giving me some air to put in my tire, so I can drive home safely... or by giving me some money to spend out in the world.

Thanks for the comment, kiddo!

what if you don't have a car?

Then you take your confidence and venture out on your feet, walking or riding a bus!!

I can actually remember when most gas stations offered it for free--and how we collectively spurned the ones who didn't.

I love that you turn to everyday moments into art--I just realized this morning (during journal time) that that is how I want to live my life. Every moment an opportunity for creation.
